Web designers often use a design process with an emphasis on technical elements such as wireframes, code and content management, but a good design is not defined by them. It consists in creating a website that respects a general strategy.
Websites with a special design do not focus only on aesthetics.
They attract visitors and help them understand the product, the company and the branding through a series of elements, visual indicators and interaction. Thus, all elements of the website must be correlated to lead to the same goal.
But how do we manage to integrate these elements in a harmonious way?
We are a digital agency and we use a 7 steps webdesign process.
1. Objective identification
We work with our clients to determine together the goal that a website needs to reach and to identify the customer profile to achieve a correct UX design strategy. In this step you should explore the following questions: Who is this website for ?, What do visitors expect to find? What does the website intend to do? To sell or to inform?
2. Content definition
Once we have identified the purpose of the website, we can define the content needed for its fulfillment (web pages and functionalities).
3. Building sitemaps and wireframes
In this step, we create a sitemap and build wireframes to determine how the website's functionality will be combined with the actual content.
4. Create content
Having the overview of the website we want, we can move on to creating content for each web page separately, always taking into account search engine optimization (SEO).
5. Visual elements
Having the architecture of the website and at least part of the content, we can move on to the creation of visual elements following the style and elements of branding of the website. If the client does not have visual content, we will create images, mockups and any other necessary element to allow users to quickly discover the services or products offered.
6. Testing
We test the responsiveness of the website manually on different desktop and mobile devices to ensure that it is displayed correctly. We perform A / B tests to improve the user experience.
7. Website launch
Once the whole website works perfectly, it's time to plan its launch in the online environment. This stage also includes planning promotion strategies - when will we launch the website and how will the world find out about it?
